Simply put, harm reduction refers to policies, programs and practices that aim primarily to reduce the adverse health, social, and economic consequences of risk-taking behaviours such as drug use.

Shift provides support services to adults currently and formerly working in the sex industry to improve their quality of life and achieve individualized goals.
Shift has a harm reduction and rights-based approach to sex work.
This means that the safety and human rights of sex workers are their focus.
ANSWERS SOCIETY
EDMONTON
ANSWERS is an inclusive outreach organization designed to aid sex workers with needed resources (housing assistance, mental/physical health referrals, legal or financial help) while also educating the public and legislators towards changing the laws, harms and myths surrounding sex work.
ANSWERS works to destigmatize consensual sex work and normalize rights, respect and equality for sex workers.
