Our Response to COVID-19

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic continues to impact us all, our main priority at RDQCA is the continued health and safety of our members and their families, and the greater community we serve.

We all need to do our part in “flattening the curve”, which is why all of our in-person events are currently suspended until the ban on mass gatherings is lifted and the danger has passed. However, RDQCA remains committed to ensuring that the LGBTQIA+ community Stays Strong Together during the unique stresses that COVID-19 presents.

We at RDQCA realize in this time of crisis it is now more important than for you to rely on and trust your community, which is why we are shifting our focus to virtual events for the foreseeable future. Look to our May Newsletter and our social media for continuous updates on what events will be held virtually in the upcoming weeks and months.

Finally, we would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to all the frontline and essential services workers who are working endlessly during this uncertain time. We ask our community members to step up as well: If you know a frontline or essential services worker in your family or in your neighbourhood, thank them and ask if there is something that could be done to make their lives easier.

For further information, you can find Red Deer City's response to COVID-19 here, the Government of Alberta's response here, and the Government of Canada's here.

We will get through this, and we will Stay Strong Together.
